Award-winning journalist Jeff Simmons has joined Main Street Media, bringing his extensive experience in sports coverage, broadcasting, and editorial leadership to the team.
Simmons, who has been named the state’s top sports writer twice by the Tennessee Press Association, is widely recognized for his in-depth reporting across Warren County and beyond. He will now serve as editor of the upcoming newsletter and host both a daily show and a weekly sports show, expanding his coverage to even greater audiences.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Main Street Media team,” said Simmons. “For years, I’ve been dedicated to providing the best and most comprehensive coverage of Warren County sports, and this platform should only expand my reach to further show off the fine athletes we have locally while also highlighting more teams and players from surrounding areas. Additionally, I’m looking forward to bringing my own brand of comprehensive interviewing and in-depth reporting to all topics on my daily show. I’m thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given by the Southern Standard over the years, and I’m looking forward to bringing Simmons Says to Main Street Media!”
Simmons has made a significant impact on local sports journalism, with his work featured in publications across Tennessee and shared by Yahoo!, OutKick, and WTVF. His coverage spans from state tournaments to championship games and includes award-winning writing, sports photography, and personal humor columns.
As an assistant coach for the Boyd Lady Broncos, Simmons has also contributed to the team’s success, helping them achieve back-to-back TSIAA South Championships.
Simmons’ addition marks a key moment in Main Street Media’s continued growth, strengthening its commitment to quality local journalism. More details on his upcoming shows and projects will be announced soon.
